Q: Is anybody part of a Houston BMW club that gets you cheap rates on your car insurance?

A: I’m a member of the Houston BMW club Car Club of America. It’s really awesome because I get to associate with people who are as obsessed with BMWs as I am, and yes, the Houston BMW club does offer discounts on your car insurance premium. I think I get a ten percent discount on mine from being part of the Houston BMW club.

Membership in the Houston BMW club is useful for a lot more things that just that. They offer a course on learning how to handle high performance cars, so if you have one of the sporty models of the BMW brand then you can take this course and learn how to make the most of your car. Even if you don’t have a car, the Houston BMW club allows you to rent a Miata (kind of weird, since that’s a Mazda…) and take the course with that.

A: What kind of BMW do you have? I’m part of a Houston BMW club, too, called the BMW Club of Houston, but it’s for owners of BMW motorcycles, and this Houston BMW club was founded by 4DStar BMW, which sells BMW motorcycles.

It only costs $18 to join, but you have to apply and the members judge on your application when they meet. We meet every Thursday night and a lot of us also meet on Sunday mornings, and we have a lot of events where we go riding together and rallies as well. And yeah, you also get a motorcycle insurance discount from the Houston BMW club if you’re accepted as a member.

Q: Are there any Houston BMW services specials going on right now?

A: If you get your car from a specific dealership, then usually you get some kind of Houston BMW services special when you bring your car in to get checked. The dealership that I bought my BMW at has some good Houston BMW services specials going on right now. At the moment they’ll match the Houston BMW services price of anyone else, so I always get a low quote before I go and get my car serviced. You also get ten percent off any kind of servicing, which makes it even cheaper.

European star has a lot of details about the prices of its different kinds of Houston BMW services, and the prices are pretty low. For example, they do a brake check, top off all fluids, change oil, check the belts and lights out, all for fifty five dollars. However, that isn’t one of their Houston BMW services specials. What they do have is a five percent overall discount on all Houston BMV services.

If you’re going to get a certified pre owned car from one of the many Houston BMW dealerships, then you still need to do a lot of the same research that you would have done if you were going to buy a brand new car from the same Houston BMW dealerships. While you no longer have the option of choosing extra features and color, you still do have a lot of room to move around in.

• Prices.

Just like you would look up the quote from each of the Houston BMW dealerships for a new car, you need to check Blue Book or NADA to see what the used car value is for the vehicle that you want. It will depend on what the mileage and condition is on the car, so check the inventory at your local Houston BMW dealerships.

Who is the certification coming from? If it’s from the Houston BMW dealerships, that’s all well and good, but you also should have one from the maker of the vehicle, since they have stricter requirements. If you have the certification from the manufacturer then you will be able to sell your car anywhere in the country.

• Check? Check.

If the car is certified, the Houston BMW dealerships will have a checklist with information on everything that was looked at. Make sure that everything that should have been checked was.

• Warranty.

If the Houston BMW dealerships offer a warranty on the car that has transferred from the last driver, then it should be detailed in your contract. If not, there will be problems.

• History.

Ask for a vehicle history. You can even get one on your own by using the vehicle identification number, but the Houston BMW dealerships should be able to give you all of the crash and repair and maintenance information for the car.

• Warranty redux.

If you get a warranty from the Houston BMW dealerships on your used car, then it probably will be a powertrain one, which is long lasting but limited in scope. If you want to expand the coverage of the warranty, look into buying a bumper to bumper warranty.

• Return.

Can you return the car if you don’t like it or something goes wrong? What’s the time limit that the Houston BMW dealerships give you? If you do so, will you get refunded for things such as the sales tax?

• Negotiate.

Just because you’re getting something for a lower price doesn’t mean that you can’t get the Houston BMW dealerships to take it down a notch or six lower. Use the same negotiation tactics that you would with any other kind of car.

Q: Should I get a certified used Houston BMW, or does it matter much?

A: Back when I got my first used Houston BMW, I didn’t have much to go on other than my own instinct. It was older than I was at the time, nice looking inside and out but drove wonky, and while I fell in love with it immediately, I had some reservations. You should be one of them.

Trading in your old car to your Houston BMW dealership is so much easier. I find that I can get a better price from a Houston BMW dealership than I can from trying to sell it, because people who call and email about the sale ad will always try to knock the price down a couple thousand dollars even when I know how much it’s worth and won’t move that much. One time they even accepted a trade in that they had never seen for a credit of three thousand dollars, and the trade in wouldn’t have gotten me more than one thousand outside of the Houston BMW dealership.

Before you go into a trade in with your Houston BMW dealership, you need to know the value of your car. There are plenty of resources where you can find this out, especially Blue Book, which gives you both a sales price and a trade in price. You can find this online or you can pick it up at a book store near where you live. It has information on pretty much any car that you could possibly have. The info goes back to 1984, so it will have used cars from then on up.

Get your car looking nice before you take it to a Houston BMW dealership for a trade in. Sometimes a simple wash, polish, and vacuum can up the amount of money you receive. You shouldn’t treat it any worse than as if you were going to sell it to an individual instead of a Houston BMW dealership.

Sometimes a good offer on your trade in from the Houston BMW dealership is a good thing, and sometimes it isn’t. While it could mean that you are saving a lot of money, usually when the Houston BMW dealership offers you a high sum for your trade in it’s because they intend to make the car you’re buying more expensive to make up for that loss.

I own a 1987 BMW 325i, and considering that it’s pretty old, it needs Houston BMW repair. I could take it to the car lot that I bought it from, but that isn’t ideal since they take forever and don’t always fix it right. The last time I took it there, the idle was high (which was the fault of another repair shop), so they replaced it. Then it was too low, or anyway, something new was wrong with it so that it took a few tries to start it up and we had to rev the engine.

This is an excellent Houston BMW repair shop that’s between Richmond and Alabama. They repair BMWs, Porsches, and Mercedes-Benzes. As they say, ‘we speak your car’s language’. I’ll admit that the reason that I picked this Houston BMW repair shop to repair my car after my own car lot had messed it up was because the name amused me, but they ended up satisfying. They say they have 97% customer satisfaction, and I believe it. The service was great and very quick, and they fixed the problem without breaking anything else, and managed to clean my car up and change my oil and power steering fluid in the meantime for no extra charge, which was a pleasant surprise.

• MPH Automotive Services.

This is another Houston BMW repair shop, although I haven’t had any experience with them. They’re located in Katy, and they are for Houston BMW repair as well as Mercedes Benz. They accept warranties, as well.

Q: I’m in high school and have a part time job, and my mom says it’s up to me to find a car and I can get what I want so long as I can afford it, so what kind of Houston Texas BMW can a teen like me get?

A: Well, with a Houston Texas BMW you might be aiming a little high, but if you get good quotes and think you can do it, then all power to you. It’s a good way to learn responsibility, I guess. When you graduate high school, you’ll be doing a lot more than paying for a Houston Texas BMW. Here’s a breakdown of all the types of Houston Texas BMW out there and why you might or might not choose them.

• Sedan.

A sturdy mid sized sedan is the best kind of Houston Texas BMW to get, both for car insurance purposes, price, and for safety. There are plenty of sedans that have some infused sport and are good looking and fast enough to not make you look too uncool, and at the same time they don’t offer the temptations of higher performance cars. If you’re living near the U of H campus, then you’re close to pretty much everything and won’t have to worry about being in the middle of nowhere like two thirds of the city.

• Your title.

This has never happened to me, and definitely didn’t happen when I bought my BMW in Houston, but I know others have told me about it. I wouldn’t expect it, though. If the date on that registration passes, then the police consider it open season for you and you can expect to get ticketed. I let my registration go one time when I was trying to sell my old BMW in Houston, since I thought I would only have it for a couple more days, and I got ticketed TWICE driving to junk yards. Bad idea.

• Parking.

I’ve managed to park at U of H several times with my BMW in Houston without getting ticketed for lacking a parking permit, but I think I was just lucky. My car stuck out like a sore thumb along with the hundreds of cars with vary colored permits in their windows. If you’re going to park your BMW in Houston on the U of H campus, then buy a permit and use it.

Q: What kinds of warranties should I ask about when I go to my BMW dealer in Houston?

A: There are a bunch of different types of warranties, so it can be hard getting used to them. All I’ve ever had is powertrain, but I know people who gotten bumper to bumper warranty from their BMW dealer in Houston, among other kinds. Here’s a basic idea of what each kind of warranty that your BMW dealer in Houston might give you means.

• Powertrain.

Powertrain warranties tend to be the longest lasting warranties that your BMW dealer in Houston will give you, and they manage this because the warranty doesn’t cover many parts, even if it does cover those few parts for ten years or so. Normally it just sticks with the engine, the transmission, occasionally he air bags, and whatever parts move connected to the wheels. You can’t be covered for other necessary and constant things such as maintenance, like an engine tune up. However, the transmission is one of the most expensive repair costs for any car, so at least our BMW dealer in Houston has you covered there.

• Bumper to bumper.

This is the most basic warranty and covers surface mechanisms such as your electrical stuff, your AC, your fuel system, your radio, and so on. It’s shorter than the powertrain, and usually lasts around three years. While with most makes that’s all you get, with your BMW dealer in Houston you can also get maintenance.

• Roadside assistance.

Usually, your BMW dealer in Houston will give you this type of coverage along with the rest of your warranty. Roadside assistance is great in a bind, but even though it takes care of you when you break down in the form of towing, it unlocks your car when you lock your keys in and so on, it doesn’t pay for any extra charges not directly related to your car, such as having a rental to drive while the car is in the shop.

• Extended warranty.
